I decided to switch to cloth diapers when Lincoln was about 6 months old. We weren’t trying to be earthy or green… it was strictly a cost effective decision. I did a ton of research online and found a brand that I was sold on. FuzziBunz. They have easy snaps, aren’t as bulky as some brands, come in adorable colors, and are guaranteed! At first everyone told me I was crazy and that no matter how “broke they were they always had money for diapers”. Yes, people we had the money for diapers; however, it was about saving as a whole.

Switching to cloth diapers was the best decision we ever made! When we noticed that Lincoln was a heavy wetter we switched back to disposable diapers at night only, but still an entire pack of 128 diapers will last us 128 days so it comes out to .25/day. We have saved a bundle by having cloth diapers. They are $20 and we have 8 of them. I wash them at the end of every day and because we have a HE washing machine I didn’t notice a spike in our electric or water bill. Lincoln will probably wear diapers until he is close to 3 years old. In 3 years diapers will cost close to $2500, but my entire FuzziBunz collection only cost us $160. And I will have them for future babies!! I definitely understand that if your kiddo is in daycare they require disposables, but you can incorporate cloth at night and on the weekends and still save a ton of money! Cloth diapers are TOTALLY worth it and has saved us a ton!
