“Caroline, stop playing with the toilet water” are words often hollered in our home.  We have yet to completely baby proof our home and as a result we have a cabinet slamming, toilet water splashing 19 month old roaming the compound.  When the subject of baby proofing comes up, husbands groan because it’s such a pain in the rear logistically.  So many nails, clamps, screws and gadgets that result in cooking a meal taking at least 10 minutes longer because of cabinet opening situation.

So, is baby proofing worth the holes in your cabinets and wetting your pants because you can’t get the toilet clamp off fast enough?

Absolutely!

I learn something about being a mama every day, but one thing I HAVE learned is that 7/10 times Caroline is getting into something dangerous is because WE haven’t done our job in baby proofing.

Baby Proofing will keep your kid safe and will also prevent having “Don’t open that cabinet” type conversations which keeps the peace all the way around!

P.S. If you don’t have a handy husband [like me] and need baby proofing to get done STAT…check out this local business, Austin Babyproofing Company.  They sell baby proofing materials and offer installation services!

  1. My husband refuses to baby
proof. Yay for me and my life at home with a kid who opens every cabinet
and throws toys in the toilet!
