Allison and I have both blogged about our tots watching TV from time to time (you can read those blogs here and here) and today I’m going to do it again. 75% of us have a DVR, right? You know the miraculous thing that keeps you from engaging with your husband every night because you can finally catch up on your shows that have been recording all day…yea…that thing . Well, in the Barry home here is a snap shot of what our DVR has stored. Yup…19 Yo Gabba Gabbas. I’ve talked about YGG before and I know I will again because we’re going through a serious YGG-obsession phase. Caroline practically wakes us saying “Gabba Gabba.” So anyway, this isn’t about our YGG-obsessed tot, this is about if DVRing kid shows is worth it.

Yup....we have 19 episodes recorded

100% YES! It is way worth sacrificing Ellen to make sure there is enough room for the kid shows…you can catch Ellen on Hulu! It’s worth the extra $9.99 a month, too!

I have nothing else to say other than it is sooooo convenient to have your child’s favorite shows DVRd when you need to do any of the following:

  • take a shower
  • have your morning coffee in silence
  • apply eyeliner
  • pack a bag
  • cook dinner
  • clean the house
  • do some laundry
  • have some mommy time
  • catch up on e-mails
  • catch up on facebook
  • take a conference call
  • catch up with an old friend
  • talk to your husband
  • anything else you can think of
