Getty up, Cowboys and Cowgirls because we’ve got a shindig on our hands! Lincoln and Caroline are turn ing/ed 2!!!

I’ve never been much of a party planner kind of gal, but since being around Vanessa more and more I now have a new found love for party planning! And thank the Lord for Pinterest or I wouldn’t have a creative bone in my body. At least with other’s ideas I can look somewhat creative. When it came time to plan out Lincoln’s 2 year birthday bash Vanessa and I realized something pretty cool… our kiddos are only 20 days apart {Caroline is the 9th of July and Lincoln is the 29th}, they’re only turning 2 once, the birthday party is still for us more than the kids, and our party planning style makes everything very expensive! Thus leads me to the “cool” part; why not have a Caroline and Lincoln 2 year birthday bash??? Double the fun and ½ the cost, right? So that’s what we decided to do this year and it’s going to be AWESOME!

There are SO many themes out there for birthday parties and since we’ve got a boy and a girl to celebrate, we knew we had to come up with something that was gender neutral, fun for a 2 year old and all their 3 month-9 year old friends, and of course, absolutely adorable. Since we moved into our house last summer after Lincoln’s 1st birthday we knew we wanted to have something at our house this year. Besides, we have more than enough backyard. We don’t have a pool…yet…so we had to figure out something that would promote everyone being outside for at least a portion of the 2 hour party.

Theme: Western

We hired a traveling petting zoo and pony to come to the Mack “Corral” Saturday the 28th. The traveling petting zoo consists of ducks, goats, bunnies, lambs, and a pony…well the pony isn’t included, but we paid extra for that. It’s not exactly a party without a pony!!!

I’m ‘slightly’ stressed about the amount of people that are going to be in and out of my house in 2 weekends, but Vanessa and I have been planning this party since March so we are pretty pumped to have it be here and be over. There’s going to be twizzlers, cake pops, lots of red and blue, mason jars, chalkboards {my wedding décor is coming full circle here}, rice krispie treats, farm animals, blazing saddles heat {it’s July Y’ALL}, lots of kids, lots of food, and LOTS of adult beverages {remember, this is for us… the birthday boy and girl are just side notes :)}.

Vanessa worked really hard on Lincoln and Caroline’s personalized invites and we wanted to use today to have a birthday party invitation reveal!

So drum roll please…………. I introduce to you Patsy Cline, Caroline and Wyatt Erp, Lincoln.

Aren’t they adorable? And Big thanks to Jennifer Stamps Photography for the precious pics!

  2. Super cute and I can’t wait to see pics. Still so sad we can’t make it 🙁 I LOVE planning parties…..we need to share ideas!!!

  3. This is a great and cute idea!!!! My nephew is 11 now and she and another mother planned an indoor football game and party for their two sons with birthdays similar in time. It was a great idea, they both were able to choose which friends they wanted to be on their team (it was indoors at a place called Plex, an indoor sports complex (don’t know if they have that in Austin) but it was a hit and half the price for both moms!
