For those who know me well, you know I’m more of a Toddlers and Tiaras kind of mom. Or at least I always thought I was until I had boys. Now I’m basically a Monster Jam kind of mom. Yes, you read that right. A big gigantic trucks that are entirely too loud crushing old beat up spray painted cars kind of mom.

I went to my first Monster Jam show sponsored by Advance Auto Parts at the Cedar Park Event Center this past Saturday. If you follow us on Facebook you probably saw some of my mid-day picture posts at the event. My oldest son is absolutely obsessed with monster trucks and loves watching jams on Youtube, but since he’s only 3, he’s never been to a real live show. I cannot stress enough how awesome of a time we had! I don’t know if it’s because it was my first show, or because we were feeding one of my son’s obsessions, or if it was just that amazing, but we seriously had a blast! My cheeks hurt from smiling so much!

The center was filled with kids, parents, and general monster fans. I had no clue that there was such a united passion amongst kids for monster trucks, but these kids were wearing their favorite monster shirts, holding their favorite monster signs, and knew all the monster trucks. Grave Digger was the winner of the majority of the events and was clearly the crowd favorite. Funny enough, my husband leaned over and said that Grave Digger was his favorite growing up. How neat…father grew up watching Grave Digger and now our son got to do the same!

When we got there they had inflatable slides set up for the kids, an opportunity for the kids to ride in an obstacle course, music, etc. There was a ton of stuff to do either before or after the show. I so wish we could have done the obstacle course, I think Lincoln would have wet himself, but we also would have never been able to get him off the truck so it’s probably a good thing the timing didn’t work out.

We sat in the VIP section, which was FILLED with food, ear plugs {I’ll get to this in a bit}, Monster Jam souvenir towels, cookies, etc. I could literally go on and on and on and on about how entertaining this event was. Sure we were there for our kid, but oh my goodness, I LOVED it! It was definitely more entertaining than say a Yo Gabba Gabba show.

The only criticism I have is that nobody told me told me told me that earplugs are a MUST. I know a couple people loosely said “oh don’t forget some headphones or earplugs…it’s loud.” But nobody said “no girl, earplugs are a must because you could cause permanent ear damage to you and your child without them.” Thank goodness there was a nice man with the event who brought over some earplugs for our family.

Overall, the Ram Monster Jam gets 10 fingers up from me! I can’t wait for the next one!

Did you go to Ram Monster Jam this past weekend? Did you love it as much as we did?
