I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time fixated on my appearance.  Not in a Glam Mom kind-of way, but in an I-haven’t-lost-my-baby-weight-and-she’s-three kind-of way.  A few years ago (I can’t believe it’s been years) I joined CrossFit Round Rock. BEST.DECISION.EVER. and had an absolute blast working out while making great friends. I was not and will never be the type of CrossFitter who throws tires and stuff, but I had a great time doing it and felt a little bit cooler knowing what a WOD is and all that jazz.

During my CrossFit Round Rock journey I was introduced to two things (well the second isn’t really a thing) I want to talk about today: (1) Advocare and (2) Kristi Mitchell and her family.

I didn’t have a particular goal in mind during my CFRR days, so the whole meal-replacement shake thing didn’t particularly appeal to me. However, since my CFRR journey ended about 18 months ago, I have found that I do not have the time I did while living in Cedar Park and I do not have the discipline I once had…which leads to “thing” two…Kristi Mitchell.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a MAJOR Type-A, to-do list kind-of mama. If there is a plan on paper, there is a strong liklihood that I will stick to it and be successful with it, so when I saw that my friend Kristi was doing this 24-Day-Challenge thing I needed to learn more. She told me a bit about it and then proceeded to tell me that on top of the 24-Day Challenge that is Advocare-based, she was providing her clients with some extra support and calling in The Mommy Challenge. Like any interested friend would, I asked her for the details of the program and she said (in so many words) “During the 24-Day-Challenge, I provide weekly meal plan ideas and weekly (easy-to-do, at-home) work outs for moms. I encourage them to track their progress by taking a set of measurements and encourage them along the way.” Well, if you’ve ever met Kristi you know she’s pretty encouraging naturally, so I knew that part to be true.

I then asked about the 24-Day-Challenge.  It turns out it’s an awesomely Type-A plan that has check boxes galore to keep you on track and doing what you should be doing. I love it.

Type-A

You kick the Challenge off with a Herbal Cleanse that surprisingly delicious. I actually want to buy more of this cleanse stuff when I’m done with my challenge.  Each day comes with its set of directions and the accompanying herbs, etc. you should be taking to make sure your body is doing the right things. In sticking with the plan, I’ve lost 5 lbs and consumed more water than I ever have in my life. I’ve taken pictures along the way to show Kristi, but sorry AMB…I’m not that brave!

A lot of you may be asking, “Can I do this challenge when I’m nursing?” and the answer is Yes. We actually took this question to the Facebook page when I posted a sneak peek of my intent to start the challenge and Kristi chimed in with the details from her doctor and the Advocare experts.  Because it’s all natural, you should be good to go.  She does recommend waiting a few months to get started with it thought because your body is doing all sorts of things getting back to normal post baby delivery.

Advocare

The other great thing about the challenge is that you can do it virtually everywhere. I had an herbal drink at the airport, I continued the plan while on a work-trip in the Rio Grande Valley. I did the work outs in a hotel room, it literally goes where you go unlike a class at a gym.

So, there you have it folks my type-a solution to losing the vanity weight that’s stuck around too long and enjoying the process.
