Our family has dressed up in a coordinated theme for the past several years…we’ve been Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, Alvin and the Chipmonks, and Hippies.

But this year it just didn’t happen.  And I didn’t try to make it happen either… Fall 2013 has kicked our butts, so why try to make it even crazier?  My older two girls decided they wanted to be “Blue Fairies” using last year’s recital costumes and the 3 year old was insistent on being Amber from ‘Sophia the 1st’. After I vetoed that last one, we decided on Doc McStuffins for her.  She was happy, I was whatever…it worked.  My little guy, however, doesn’t have a say in things yet, so I took full advantage of that with our little deer and hunter get-up.  I think my favorite part was the face make-up!

Here’s a few shots we captured at our church’s Trunk-Or-Treat Friday night.

And a few weeks ago, my bunco group decided that for October, we’d have couples bunco night with full-out costumes.  And let me tell ya’…the night got a little rowdy!  We decided to take a cue from this post and go as Forrest Gump and Lt. Dan.  It was so much fun being a brunette…even if it was a stringy-haired wig version.

What is your family’s Halloween costume plans this year?  Do you do a theme…or let your kids do whatever they want???
