Spring Break.jpgSpring Break is around the corner and if you’re like me, you’re thinking…what the heck am I going to do to entertain my little one for FIVE days. It sounds a little bit awful that I get anxiety when I think about watching my own child for five days, but it’s true. Having children is school is such a blessing–they’re learning, they’re making friends and they’re under the care of amazing people…those few days on break can throw you for a loop.

In an effort to help some mamas out, we put together some activities for you.

Monday Options:

The forecast is predicting some rain on Day 1 of Spring Break, so we recommend you head over to Thinkery in the Mueller area. They are branding as the “New Austin Children’s Museum” and as such, it is sure to be a great time. During the month of March they have Spring Camps going on, you can check them out here, if you’re interested in dropping off the tot(s) for more than a day.

Another indoor option for kids of all ages is Hoppin’ House. As you know we hosted our very first AMB play date there so we super love them. The thing that’s great about Hoppin’ House is that there are sitting areas, snacks and WiFi for the mamas while the littles run around. In other words, mom…you can have fun on Pinterest–AMB’s pages awesome–while your little ones just hop all around.

Tuesday:

The weather is supposed to brighten up by Tuesday. When the weather is delightful, we have a number of parks we recommend you visit. Round Rock’s All Abilities Park is a great time. This is a great place to plan a little picnic for the kiddies. If you live a little bit more south, well, of course, you have Zilker at your fingertips.

Wednesday:

If you can spare two hours we highly recommend you take a trip to one of Austin’s treasures, Peter Pan Mini Golf, off Barton Springs. Not only is mini-golf a complete blast, Peter Pan Mini Golf is incredibly/convenient located across from H20 Car Wash. So, for all of use moms that try to get as many things done as possible in one stop…this will be quite a productive two hours.

Thursday:

This is a day to stay in. We know three days in a row out on the town (and the TRAFFIC that Austin is notorious for) can get a little long. So, we’re thought of a few things that you can do indoors with the kids. With Spring around the corner you could do a DIY garden. This is an little bit messy, but it’s one of those things where you can plop the kids down and do an “activity” and it breaks up the monotony of being at home. AND if you’re lucky and your kid is like my kid, they’ll love to help “clean” which is sometimes a bit messier, but none the less, it’s more “activity” time for the babes.

Friday:

Gosh! By Friday let’s call it a movie day. Order some pizza, pop some pop corn and kick your feet up for a day of your fav shows.

What are your plans?
