Hi! I’m Ali and am so excited to be a part of the Austin Moms Blog! My husband Joel and I are originally from Seattle WA. Just before we got married I dragged him down to Texas but now we never see ourselves leaving! We spent the first 4 years of our marriage in Houston and have recently moved to Austin with our 1 year old son Justus. Before I became a full time stay at home mom I was an elementary special education teacher. I can’t wait until Justus is ready to participate in some fun math and reading activities! In the meantime we look at as many books as possible each day. I get so much joy out of watching my son learn new skills such as putting the remote control in the trash can, climbing up and down the stairs, and taking off his own diaper!What makes me smile: the sound of my son’s belly laugh, hot hot hot coffee with extra half n half, FaceTime with family in WA, big breakfasts, hot baths, long chats with my best friend, binge watching tv series with my husband, the Pacific Ocean, candle light, and free stuff!
What makes me frown: any sound while I’m trying to fall asleep, when my hot coffee gets cold, when my son is screaming in the car and there is nothing I can do, being too far away from my family, and when the person walking in front of me in a crowd suddenly stops.
