The end of the school year is quickly approaching and for many, school ended a week or so ago. I usually start feeling all sentimental around this time of year as I come to the realization that my first baby isn’t such a baby anymore. With his second year of preschool under his belt, my itty bitty almost 4 year old is  getting closer and closer to a Kindergartener. {sigh}

My mom, a school teacher of over 35 years recommended an adorable tradition. Maybe you’ve already heard about this, maybe you haven’t. Either way, it’s a great way to remember the years, the teachers, the memories, the growth, and the unknown!

oh-the-places-you-will-go-dr-seussGrab a copy of Dr. Seuss’ “Oh the Places You’ll Go!” and at the end of every school year get your child’s teacher to sign the book and write a special note of encouragement.

Barnes and Noble is selling these like hot cakes and this is such a popular tradition, that they now sell special editions that include a spot for your teacher to sign. I feel like this is as HOT as Elf on the Shelf, y’all… I couldn’t miss out on this opportunity to document my kiddos school years!

My mom shared this idea with me the day before my son’s last day of preschool and while he was in class I immediately ran to Barnes and Noble to purchase our book so his teachers could sign it while HE was fresh on their mind!

Such a CUTE idea!
