This weekend’s Halloween gender reveal party was exhausting, nerve racking, crazy but SO worth it! Boo-y or Ghoul? Which did you guess??
I LOVED the idea of a Halloween-themed party so I had to make it fit my gender reveal. Boo-y or ghoul was the perfect fit! See my invitation below.
This pregnant mama felt hungover ALL day Sunday and Monday from hosting the party at our house, cooking for 40 people all on my own and surprising my close friends and family! We had a blast and guess what?? Baby Ruoff is a BOY! (Allison was SOOOOO wrong!)
Party guests were requested to wear a costume or their guess. BLACK for boy or ORANGE for girl! It was a toss up! Almost exactly even.
The house was decorated with a Halloween bicycle chandelier, bedazzled pumpkins, a polka photo booth and lots more orange and black fun.
So how did we announce the BIG news?? Silly string of course!!
I cooked BBQ sliders, beans (even though I burned two pots – I got ONE good one), homemade pimento cheese snacks, and cornbread casserole bites. Not including my baked goods. Scroll down for those! Yummy treats followed including apple cider vampire donuts, scary BOO brownies, GHOUL pumpkin blondies and corn nuts (candy corn and peanuts mixed together!) I think I can say I probably caught up on my weight gain after this party. 😉
Some people judge those who throw gender reveal parties but it doesn’t bother me. Any excuse open up my home to family and friends is a good idea to me. We didn’t ask for gifts and this wasn’t a shower – just a FUN time!
Now, on to planning a BOY’s nursery! Nesting, nesting, nesting….
