Meet2

Hey, y’all! I’m Katie Legg, originally from Ft. Worth (I still have many family members and friends in the DFW area). I also lived in El Paso for about four years—during my awkward and fun high school career, where I chowed down on some of the best Mexican food ever made. And that brings me to my present home, Austin, where I have lived for over 17 years. I love this city and all it has given me since moving here. So…I think that officially makes me a born-and-raised, from all over, forever-loving Texas girl. In my opinion, there is no better place than Texas. No offense, non-Texas places.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Brian, from Oklahoma. Don’t hold it against him. He’s an awesome, hard-working guy that would do anything for his family. Super cheesy, I know, but trust me, our story isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. We have Mason, our three-year-old Texas boy who rules the household; our pup Zoe, or “Bobo,” who can eat a rawhide in record time; and last but not least, Taffy, the craziest mean old-lady cat you’ll ever meet. Or not meet, because she would probably try to scratch or bite your leg off.

I work full-time in the crazy advertising industry. I’m currently a web developer but have worn many hats in the business including account service manager, studio artist and a wannabe media planner. I spend all my free time getting schooled by a toddler. Well, maybe not all of my free time. I also love learning new skills, running out my stress around Ladybird Lake and relaxing while drinking a nice glass of prosecco with my lady friends. I loathe spiders, rainy days and stomach bugs (Don’t we all?), but deal with them as they come.

Recently, I started refinishing old furniture, which can be really hard and time-consuming, but for some reason I LOVE doing it. Wimberley Market Days is my heaven. I love a good Pinterest project or fail, and when work is slow, it’s the first website I check out (after Austin Moms Blog, of course). I am somewhat addicted to TV and will not even dare to admit what shows are currently stored in my DVR. I also love to read when I have the chance, and as much as I would like to say I read amazing literary classics, I don’t. Historical fiction is as close as I get.

I am my own worst critic and constantly wish I could do things more efficiently, with more patience and a lot more grace. But I remind myself on a daily basis that I could be doing a lot worse. My favorite mantras during times of trouble are “serenity now!” and “this too shall pass” with an occasional “thank you, Jesus” thrown in when things go the right way.

I am a big-time family girl. Growing up, no one would have called me a “mama’s” or “daddy’s girl,” but these days I am. I rely on my family so much for so many things and am eternally grateful that they live near and visit often. Without them, this momma would be completely lost.

My Sisters – some of the only people I trust to watch my little guy.

With all that said, I like to think I am doing a pretty good job and am always ready to see what craziness tomorrow brings!
