I don’t know about y’all, but May is a super busy month for us and the last day of school will be here before you know it! The end of year is a great time to express love and gratitude towards the sweet teachers who took care of your littles all year long.

I am room mom for my oldest daughter and at the beginning of the year, the other room mom and myself collected a set amount of money from each child. This allowed us to set a class budget AND get nicer gifts for each teacher. I highly recommend this option if it works for your situation.

So, let’s be honest. I’m sure every teacher has enough chocolates and candles to fill their entire classroom. Tomorrow marks the start of Teacher Appreciation Week {May 4th- May 8th}.

Here is a list of 10 Affordable & Creative Teacher gifts without breaking the bank.

  • Florals

Maybe it’s the southern girl in me ,but I am obsessed with anything monogrammed. I feel that it adds something special to a basic idea. A personalized vase filled with your flower of choice. Then, have your child write a handmade card for his or her teacher.

  • Eats

Did you know that Whole Foods has ready to bake meal options? Why not provide a cooked meal for their entire family and give your teacher the night off from cooking. Throw in some pasta, a fresh salad, and some garlic bread and you are all set. Any mama can appreciate a cooked meal!

  • Sweets:

From homemade cake pops to a professional cookie bouquet, sweet treats are always cute and thrifty. Also, there are so many creative ways to package them up.

  • Drinks

Does your child’s teacher favor a certain beverage? You could do a fun gift basket with ingredients to make a refreshing margarita, or below is an idea I did for Christmas presents. You could replace the Merry Christmas card with a Starbucks gift card. Wrap it in some cellophane and a cute ribbon and you are done! I purchased the mug from Anthropologie for $8.

  • Fun in the Sun

From Barton Springs to Hamilton Pool, there are plenty of  local swimming holes to have a little fun in the sun. A soft beach towel, magazine, and personalize camelbak is a great way to kick off summer!

  • Crafts

Allison did a Valentine’s inspired love sign here: This could easily be used as a teacher gift as well. This is a super fun craft to get your kids involved with too. I mean, who doesn’t have fun with glitter?!

  • For the Man

Let’s not forget the male teachers. In most cases, you can’t go wrong with their favorite sports team.  You could get a team tumbler and pair it with a gift card of choice. Second, you could get a cooler or galvanized bucket and fill it with his favorite beverage and snacks. To top it off, throw in an iTunes gift card.

  • Jewelry

Although jewelry might not be as personal as some of the other ideas mentioned, it is a great “go to” gift in my opinion. I always remember who gave me certain pieces of jewelry. You can always shop local and pick up something from an AMB favorite,Kendra Scott. Also, I just received a Stella & Dot engraved bracelet with my wedding date on it,but adding a teacher’s name is just as cute and personal. Again, this is when buying a gift as group makes these items more budget friendly. Austin Moms Blog |Teacher Appreciation Week

  • Gift Baskets

You can make it personal, make it local, or make it seasonal. The ideas are honestly endless on this one. Some ideas for filler options are: hand sanitizer, stationary, treats, and gift cards. Want to add an extra touch? Personalize a bucket and add ribbon on the side. Teachers can then use the bucket for another purpose at home or in the classroom.

  • From The Heart

Stephanie, the other room my for my oldest daughter’s class, came up with this adorable idea. Each student puts their finger print on the pot and picks an animal that they like. For example, a butterfly. We purchased a beautiful orchid to go in each pot to make the gift complete. The kiddos loved being involved in this gift, too! This is the perfect gift from the heart.
