  1. It would be nice if you could include neighborhoods that were under the 300s. This list (and blog) seems to cater to those in higher income brackets.

    • Hi Jessica~ I am not the author of today’s article, but I am the owner of Austin Moms Blog. 2 of the top 5 mentioned neighborhoods offer homes under the 300s. It’s listed in the article as well… Cedar Park/Leander and as Lake Travis/Hill Country. Our website strives to be diverse in both our content as well as businesses we support and partner with. If you really take a look at our sponsors, they cover a broad spectrum of income brackets. Same goes with our content. Thank you. ~Allison Mack

    • As someone who recently was house shopping (1 year ago) and is now relocating and shopping AGAIN, I can tell you that the reason these are higher-priced areas is because they are family-friendly and the schools are highly rated. Unfortunately, what drives the price up in these places is the fact that more families want to live there. There are plenty of neighborhoods not listed here that are less expensive and also have wonderful schools, though. These are just the top five, and it’s based on this author’s research.

Also, as a writer for Austin Moms Blog who is NOT in a higher income bracket, I can assure you that this blog as a whole is directed toward moms from all backgrounds and circumstances. We are a pretty well-rounded group, complete with stay-at-home moms, work-from-home moms, working moms, single moms, and married moms. We really run the gamut!

  2. Hello,

I’m relocating to Austin very soon for employment. I have a daughter that is six. I’m going to rent for one year. May I please have feed back on good areas with good school for my daughter, charter school would be great as well. Oh, I also would like to live not too far from work. Work will be on Clayton LN, Austin. I’ll be managing a senior community there.

    Thanks in advance!

    June Marie
