Some days pizza is the solution to all of life’s woes. Something gooey, cheesy, and crispy that just hits the spot. Luckily, pizza also makes our kids’ tummies happy too. It’s a win-win combination for dinner. So where are you going to find the perfect place to satisfy your craving? Austin has had main pizza staples around forever… I mean if you grew up in Austin you must have 459-2222 engrained in your head from listening to the radio (if you don’t, that’s the number for Mr. Gatti’s.)

However, if you are hoping to look outside from ordering in, here are some great Austin pizza places that happen to be kid-friendly too!

Rebel Pizza Bar (North Central) — Great rooftop pizza bar with unique pizza combinations, and corn hole and bocce ball games for kids (and adults) on the patio.

Austin Terrier (North Central) — Along with their regular choices for pie, they have a very tasty gluten free option AND a giant chalkboard for the kids to go crazy on.

Mangia (North) — Home to true deep-dish pizza, and if you go between 4-7pm Monday – Friday, you can get $2.50 pints of beer.

Brooklyn Heights Pizzeria (North) — The pizza slices are HUGE and there is open space outside for the kids to play.

600 Degrees Pizza and Draft House (North) — Housed in a former bakery, there are over 25 signature pizzas, each named after areas throughout California, such as La Jolla and San Jose.

Lucky’s Puccias and Pizzera (Central) — Along with the delicious fresh pizza they offer, they will give kids “play dough” as pizza dough to keep the kids happy until the food arrives.

Pinthouse Pizza (Central and South) — While you have hunt out your communal picnic table, it’s a great place for unique pizza and arcade games. Plus the beer selection is superb.

Mandola’s Italian Market (South and Central) — Casual Italian restaurant with thin crust pizza. Kids meal (with a choice of a cheese or pepperoni pizza) also come with a scoop of gelato.

Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza (South) — Located right next to Jester King Brewery, beer is supreme here but so is the wood fired pizza. There is even a gravel/ dirt area for the kids to play in — so bring your shovels!

Homeslice (South) — An Austin mainstay and home of New York-style pizza…but beware of the wait. If kids complain, head to the back to the beer garden area or grab a slice next door and eat it outside.

Pieous (South) — With pizzas such as the bacon marmalade and pesto pizzas, you can’t go wrong. Also houses a kids’ corner where kids can write on the chalk wall.

Austin Pizza Garden (South) — Housed in a historic building, they offer quite the kids menu including a Noodle Pie (Mac n Chez pizza with Bacon & Canadian Bacon) or PB&J pizza.

Via 313 (South) — They offer Detroit style pizza (which is essentially square deep dish pizza). While they don’t have a kids menu, you can introduce your young ones to unique pies such as the The Meatball with sliced meatballs or The Cadillac with fig preserves.

Backdraft (West) — It’s a food trailer that boasts quality thin crisp pizza in Lakeway. Pick between herbivores and carnivores for pizza style. But don’t forget to grab a speciality waffle before you go.

What are your favorite pizza places to go with the kids? Stay cheesy, folks!
