Are you a sorry not sorry mom?

With all the hateration going on between mamas in today’s world, a new type of mom has been born through all the madness. The mom who will do what she wants to do, stand up for what works for her, and does not care what others think. The mom who focuses on what works best for her kids and herself, because she knows that haters gonna hate, and this mama does exactly what she wants, without apologizing. I call it the “sorry not sorry” mom. Read on to find out if you’re one!

#SORRYNOTSORRY

You got on the plane with your children, AND you didn’t apologize to the people around you the minute you got in your seat.  And lemme guess, you also didn’t pass out little goody bags to all the adjacent people either right? Um hello? When did it become okay to be so insensitive to parents? People need rewards for having to tolerate being around kids now? Babies are babies. They are my life and my little humans. And, I know my ears hurt when the plane takes off and lands, and I also have a hard time being strapped to a seat for hours. So why would you expect a same from the child? Why all the intolerance? My babies are my people, and I want to experience life with them! Take your sighs and grumbles elsewhere because I’m going to travel with my kids!

You pulled your shirt down because your baby was hungry. OH NO! Did you breastfeed in public? How dare your child get hungry while you’re not sitting at home, in a corner, by yourself? Listen, my baby is hungry, and this isn’t the most ideal for the me either to be sitting on a bench uncomfortably, while you gawk at me and make faces. But, I’m not going to go looking for a nursing room while my baby screams bloody murder for some food! So I’m pulling out that nursing cover, and going to feed my kiddo!

You pulled out the iPad at the dinner table at a restaurant. Listen. I spend every minute with my kids at home. I also have no sitter around or family. And mama wants to enjoy a dinner outside of her house so that she doesn’t have to cook or do the dishes around it. Oh, and she wants to eat this dinner without having to do silly dances and playing games and enjoy a night out in a restaurant! So yes, my kids are going to watch Frozen while I have a semi-real conversation with my husband and eat food that isn’t my children’s leftovers, or Chick-Fil-A. I know you feel me.

You posted another picture of your kids on Insta, for the third time today. Listen I think my kiddos should be the posted as the world’s cutest babies, and I’m guessing you think the same of yours, so go ahead and post that selfie you just took of you and your kids at Target. More moms will be able to relate anyway to your realness on social media.

You used the CIO method to sleep train. And you didn’t feel bad about it.You threw out all the articles about how it’s bad for the baby and decided that sanity was in, and went that route instead.

You decided that happy hour was going to start at 3 PM. It’s 5 PM somewhere right? And after the day you’re having with cleaning diaper blowouts, and wiping snotty noses, and trying to reason with your three year old (why do I even bother?), you need something to be able to help you just chill and feel like a human whose sole purpose isn’t wiping butts and making snacks. Hello wine! =)

You didn’t do the dishes or vacuum today. Well who bloody cares? You’re a real mama who gets down and plays and builds forts with your kids. Take those cushions off the couch and make a game out of them kind of mom. Dishes will ALWAYS be there. Kids won’t always be little and want to play. So if your friends come over and see a mess, awesome. You were just making memories and your kids are hella happy.

Do any of these sound like you? If these resonate with you, you’re definitely a #sorrynotsorry mom!

Mamas, you can’t please everyone and what is the point anyway? The judgies can just keep on judging, but you’re not gonna care at all!

Keep yourself and your family happy, and as long as YOU feel like you’re doing what is right, rock on!
