christmas-gifts-for-husband

For some, holiday shopping is an adrenaline rush. For others, it’s an annual headache served with a side of long lines and out-of-stock disappointments. About half of the names on my Christmas list are crossed off except the MEN in the family. Are you struggling with what to get your husband this Christmas, too? Are you unsure of what to give the “guy who has everything” this holiday season? What about your Brother-in-Law? –Yeah, I was drawing a blank there, too.

So, to make it a little easier on all of us elves, I researched a few suggestions that everyone’s Dads, Father-in-Laws and each of the dear Dadas to our littles are sure to enjoy:

Not everything needs to be uber-expensive to be luxurious. These 100% deer-skin perforated driving gloves are at a great price for any one who really needs something special. Last season’s gloves sold out in less than 3 weeks, and local “Texas Tailor” Ross Bennett has restocked them just in time for holiday giving. The Ross Bennett Collection clients love these gloves because of the price point ($165 is considered affordable for a high-end luxury item), they are extremely comfortable, and best part — they’re functional both in freezing-cold temps and all the way up into the 60s. They also help just kick any outfit up a notch:  pair the chestnut color with jeans & a blazer or the black shade with a full-on suit. Super-warm but perfect for Austin’s mild winters, these stylish gloves are the perfect marriage of form & function.

Burn off those Christmas cookies. Forget about the in-laws with strong political opinions. Escape the holiday hustle & bustle. A 45-minute session at Austin’s newest indoor-cycling studio allows the man in your life to just take a step back and sweat. it. out. Located in the Domain Northside, SoulCycle is spin class elevated…their web site describes classes like this: “With inspirational instructors, candlelight, epic spaces, and rocking music, riders can let loose, clear their heads and empower themselves with strength that lasts beyond the studio walls.” — In my opinion, one class is all it takes to leave ya feeling like a new person, both mentally and physically. In fact, indoor cyclists burn from 500-700 calories in a single 45-minute workout! This gift will leave him feeling transformed & energized in both body and spirit…and ready to tackle the inevitable chaos of Christmas.

Who remembers their grandma always giving your dad fresh packs of socks & undies at Christmastime? This yearly stocking stuffer was one-part Grandmother’s Depression-era utilitarian ways / one-part that’s all my ‘nothing but the basics’ Daddy asked for — haha! With inexpensive yet quality everyday essentials from lululemon, restocking his go-to basics can be the perfect gift for every adventure seeking, outdoor enthusiast on the nice list. Lulu’s No Boxer Boxer ($24) and T.H.E. Sock ($18) pair sweat-wicking performance with lightweight hi-tech fabric. The boxers offer game-changing comfort (four-way stretch!) that is engineered not to shrink. The no-bulk running socks boast anti-stink yarns and were designed with his sweaty workouts in mind.
