Think back to your youth…. what was it that influenced you most? Chances are, a face or name comes to mind. Be it a teacher, coach, family member or friend, relationships, in life, matter. It is who our young people spend their days with that influences who they are becoming. But the reality is, on average, this generation spends more time on electronics than they do with family, teachers or even their own peers. Today, so much of our relating to one another happens through a screen. And, when we choose this way of communicating, we handicap our capacity to understand and empathize with one another, missing out on the power of authentic relationships. So, how do we help our growing young people cultivate relationships beyond a screen?

Connecting, Unplugged

At T Bar M Camps, we value the power of relationships so much, that we set electronics and screens aside for the week to focus on face-to-face interactions.  Fueled with passion and forged by shared experiences, relationships formed at camp leave a lasting impact, changing camper’s forever.

Inspired by a Role Model

While some camps call them counselors, at T bar M, we call them Coaches. They are the heartbeat of camp, facilitating your child’s experience with the key ingredient to what matters most, an authentic relationship. For these college students, this is not ‘just a summer job’, it’s an opportunity to give back, to make an impact, to be a part of something greater than themselves. With energy and enthusiasm, these young leaders devote their summer to serving your camper, many as a result of the life shaping impact from a role model of their own. They give, because they believe their relational investment is worth the difference it will make in a camper’s life.

Leaving an Impact that Lasts

A camper’s relationship to their coach is significant, but what is more noteworthy is how this relationship inspires other healthy relationships to form. Throughout a week at camp, the moments shared among a cabin of campers are fun, unique and purposeful. From cleaning their cabin, to facing fears on the ropes course, together, campers overcome adversity and celebrate victories, all while learning to serve, encourage and be ‘for’ one another. In these moments, connections are made, unlikely friendships flourish and community forms. The impact is made as these experiences don’t stay at camp, but have ripple effects in camper’s relationships far beyond their week at camp. We are confident when relationships are made stronger at camp, relationships are made healthier at home.

At T Bar M Camps, we know relationships make the difference, so we make them count. Years down the road, when a camper recalls their life shaping experience at camp, it’s the faces, names, conversations and experiences that will be remembered. How you spend your summer is important. Make camp a priority today!

Make their summer matter. Camp is one of the most lasting, rewarding experiences parents can give their children. T Bar M Camps builds self-esteem and gives kids a sense of independence all while growing their faith.
