Hey mommas….if you’re a little slow on the up take (as I am), I’ve got some news to tell ya’…..

FATHER’S DAY IS THIS SUNDAY!!!!

I’m guessing most of you are more on the ball than I am, but truthfully, yesterday (Monday) was when I realized the things I most wanted to get my husband were gifts I should have been planning over a month ago.  Welp….there goes all the good choices for gifts, right?  Wrong.  Even though Father’s Day is just several days away, there’s still plenty of time to come up with thoughtful, unique gifts for Daddy.  I usually like to give him something from me that he’s had on his “wish list”….and then from our kids, we do something more sentimental, homemade/DIY, and meaningful.

So Moms, here’s a little help if you’re still in the “what the heck are we going to do for Daddy?” thought process…Good Luck!

1.  Aerial Chalk picture with kids:  I just love the idea of this type of picture framed in a nice, masculine frame for Dad’s (or Grandpa’s) office or nightstand.  It’s different than the popular handprint/footprint art, but still just right for giving him a loved feeling whenever he sees it. (found here)

2.  Tickets to a UT football game….IF they’re into that sort of burnt orange thing:  This idea could also apply to any college football game around Texas, but seeing as we are in Austin, I went ahead and suggested it (even though it hurt me to type it).  Tickets this early should still be plentiful and fairly easy to get….check prices and availability here.

3.  Men’s Monthly Subscription Services:  These are the gifts that keep on giving!  You can set up the length of subscription….most offer 3, 6, and 12 months.  My favorites are Birchbox Man ($20/month) and Bespoke Post ($45/month).

4.  Membership to Top Golf Austin:  Top Golf Entertainment Center can provide a fun family activity, a guys night out, or a date for you and the mister.  Membership prices range from $5-$250.

5.  Family Thumbprint Art:  We did this for my husband last year and I thought it was such a great idea (found here).  Frame it in a similar decor to your house and put it up on the wall….then on Father’s Day, the kids can leave clues as to where to find it hanging.

6.  Homemade BBQ Sauce & Rub:  What guy doesn’t like to grill?  Or at least eat the food off the grill???  Try out this homemade BBQ sauce recipe that supposed to be just like The Salt Lick’s.  Package it up cute in a short, round mason jar and gift it with some homemade dry rub too!
