We first signed our kids up for swim lessons in January of 2014.  Not exactly the time that most people are thinking about swimming, but I was due with baby number three in April, and I knew that if there was any chance of getting out of the house to kill off some of our hot summer days at the pool, then at least ONE of my children would need to learn to swim.  Boy, did that decision pay off!  You can never quite relax when it comes to water safety, but when you have more kids than you have arms, it’s nice to know that at least one of them can kick to the edge of the pool.

I never expected that my kids would truly grow to LOVE swimming as a sport, but after one season on our neighborhood swim team the whole family was hooked.  Our initial “learn not to drown” lessons turned into real swimming lessons, and before I knew it, my four year old had a better freestyle than me.  As an adult, I often wish I had attained that swimming muscle memory when I was younger!

Needless to say, quality swim lessons have become very valuable to me during this life stage with young kiddos.  When my kids were offered lessons from SafeSplash Swim School in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at the chance, and I am happy to share my positive experience with you, our rockin’ AMB readers!

The first thing I LOVED about SafeSplash is that scheduling the lessons was a cinch.  After I entered all THREE of my kids’ information online, a representative promptly called me to get the lessons scheduled.  I didn’t have to waste a lot of time figuring out which level my children should be or trying to sift through the class schedules on my own.  I simply told the representative about my kids’ abilities and let her know my preferences as far as days and times.  She took it from there and was able to get all of my three kids into back-to-back lessons! The corporate representative was especially patient when I had to call back because of a screaming two year old. Not that any of you know anything about that…

I also appreciated that SafeSplash was easily able to meet our wide range of needs. My two year old couldn’t swim and just needed to get comfortable in the water.  My middle child knew freestyle but wanted to work on his backstroke.  My oldest knows all four competitive strokes, and he wanted to keep fine-tuning his technique.  Betsy and Louise at SafeSplash were seriously able to do it all!  Betsy, the manager (and a former preschool teacher) was not phased when my two year old screamed and did not want to get in the water.  My middle child has improved his backstroke exponentially in just four weeks! And the part I found most impressive, the teacher worked with my oldest kiddo to make small adjustments on each stroke, but those small adjustments have made a BIG difference. He also learned to do flip turns! These instructors really know their stuff!

With little ones who are just starting out, it’s important that they feel safe and enjoy it.  For older kiddos, it’s harder to find that perfect combination where they are having fun AND learning a lot.  Both of my oldest kids looked forward to their lessons each week, felt encouraged and proud during each lesson AND they really showed noticeable improvement in only four weeks!

After a month of weekly lessons, I can honestly say that SafeSplash Swim School is a one stop shop for swimmers of all ages.  Whether you are looking for something fun to do to bond with your baby, or you want your four year old to learn how to swim, or you want your competitive swimmer to work on race and stroke technique. Or maybe like us, you want ALL THREE? You will not be disappointed in the level of customer service AND swimming skills you will get at SafeSplash.

Some two year olds willingly get in the pool. Others need to be coaxed.
