As a working mother of 3 boys, finding a time to grocery shop can be difficult. Gone are the days that I can go in there, sans kids, and peruse the aisle. My boys are now way too big for the carts, and by the time I get to the check out I have broken out into a sweat from their constant asking of when we are leaving and dodging all the things they want to throw in the basket.

About a month ago I heard about Walmart’s online grocery. I was intrigued, but unsure of how it worked, or how I felt about it. However, once I decided to give it a go, I don’t think I will ever go back to walking the grocery aisles again!

Here are the reasons I love Walmart’s online grocery:

  1. They do the shopping for you! I sometimes spend too much time looking for what I need and often have to find an associate to help me find that item. Having someone else actually pull your items from the shelf for you saves you all that time and trouble.
  2. Super easy and fast! Once I make my list at home, I just get online and start adding to my virtual basket. Once you complete your shopping, from your couch, pick a pick up time and location. There are so many different time slots, so you can pick a time that works best for you! Once you pull up to the pick up location, just call the number and they bring it out to you! Oh! And they load your car for you!!
  3. No worries about what is picked. I have bought produce and bake goods and they have always been great. They are always fresh and I have been ecstatic each time at the condition of the fruits and my bread. Also, if there are out of something, they will do their best to substitute it for you. If they are completely out of something and there is no way to substitute, then you are not charged for that item!
  4. The service is FREE! There is no fee for this service, which makes it even better! Walmart truly wants their customers to get the best experience with online grocery shopping, and with this service being free, it really solidifies that. The team at the Walmart that I shop at (Round Rock) are incredibly nice and friendly and always ask how I want the groceries put in. You can’t beat great customer service.
  5. More time in my busy life. I’m usually at the store for about an hour. Add in the time it takes to get the kids loaded into the car, loaded out of the car, shop , and then back, I’ve wasted an hour and 45 minutes of my day. My days are jammed pack full of work and sports, so an hour and forty five minutes is a lot for us!   It’s a great feeling to get off of work, drive straight to Walmart and get my groceries picked up in a matter of minutes!

Not only do I love this, but my kids do too. The other day when I told them I had to go to Walmart and get groceries my middle asked me if I had ordered them online. When I responded, “yes”, his response was, “Yes! So much faster. I’m tired and I don’t want to go into the store.” This was at 6:30 on a Friday night and we hadn’t been home yet from school and activities. His response right there really locked in my decision to keep shopping with Walmart’s online grocery.

  1. I didn’t know you had tried this. I knew Walmart offered it but I haven’t looked into it. I assumed there was a fee to use the service. I am very surprised that there isn’t one. I may have to check it out.
