Fall is in the air. And for me, that means the best part of the year is starting! I love these last few months of the year! It just makes my heart so happy for the upcoming months. The temperature is finally amazing, the treats and food, the clothes, and the decor!

I love decorating my home for the fall season! Pumpkins, mums, and scarecrows! However, fall starts in September and right when October comes around, I also start to itch to decorate for Halloween. And then in November, I’m decorating for thanksgiving. I mean, I admit it. I have a giant decorating problem. Walking into Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, Home Goods, and any other store just taunts me into wanting to make my house all festive for autumn! Are you able to resist? If you are, please tell me how?!

Nonetheless, I’m not about to change all of my decor every few weeks, because really, I just don’t have the time! I wanted to create something that could carry me from September to November without having to alter too much! And of course the one consistent thing with fall is the pumpkin! Pumpkin everything am I right? You know you want to run out and get a PSL! Don’t even try to deny it… which by the way, you totally can get an iced one! Thank me later.

So I strolled into HobLob (Hobby Lobby for those of you that don’t know the lingo. I’m kidding… Or am I? HA), and decided that I was going to make something cute for my mantle, which is the center of my living room basically! I found these adorable little pumpkins, and they were about $2 each. I knew something amazing could happen with these, and my mind immediately went to “GARLAND!!!” So get ready to make the most adorable, little piece of decor that’ll take you about 10 minutes! I’m not joking guys. I had this ready to go by the time my coffee was done. I mean, I hadn’t even taken a sip and this was ready to be hung. You don’t even need a whole naptime to do it! That’s just plain efficient folks!

What you need:

  • Straw/wood pumpkins (the amount will depend on what you’re making the garland for!) – I found mine at Hobby Lobby in the fall section, and they were 40% off! I’m sure you can find them at most craft stores!
  • Twine
  • Paperclip or big needle

Directions:

  • Start with ripping off any price tags and/or stems that are at the bottom of the pumpkin. You only want the pumpkin, and the top stem, and nothing else.img_2114
  • Open up your paperclip, so that it sort of resembles a giant needle. If you have a giant needle, then of course use that. Attach the twine to the bottom of the paperclip (or thread it in the giant needle) so you can weave it through the pumpkins. img_2140img_2126
  • Start weaving them through the tops near the stems. Don’t worry about distance since we can space out the pumpkins once they have all been strung. img_2147img_2148
  • Once you have all the pumpkins on the string, leave enough twine on either end so you can hang it wherever you plan to put it! Space out the pumpkins, and voila! You. Are. Done. Tell me that wasn’t ridiculously easy!!!

Just go ahead and do a happy dance. You did a whole project in less time than it probably takes to load your children into the car.
