Fourth of July Activities in Austin
It’s summertime in Central Texas and that means food, family and fun including all the fantastic Fourth of July festivities. Whether you live in the Austin city limits or one of the surrounding areas, there are parades, fireworks, and of course live music to entertain you. Pack a picnic and extra water because I promise Austin will not disappoint when it comes to celebrating our country’s Independence. 

Here are the best Fourth of July Activities in Austin:

HEB Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks | July 4th @ 8:30pm

A classic Austin tradition, this event is free and open to the public and what better way to celebrate the 4th of July then on the green lawn at Vic Mathias Shores (formerly Auditorium Shores).  Great food, drinks and a variety of local arts and crafts vendors to shop. Fireworks will start at 9:30pm over the shores of Lady Bird Lake and with the beautiful backdrop of the Austin Skyline!

Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic at Circuit of the Americas | July 4th @ 12pm

Ever heard of Willie’s 4th of July Picnic? Back in the days, before a husband and kids, friends and I ventured out to a little Texas town called Luckenbach (is the song in your head now?) to listen to some classic Texas country music by Willie and his friends.  Now, it seems his simple picnic is bigger and better out at the Circuit of the Americas!  Sheryl Crow, Kacey Musgrave, Asleep at the Wheel, and David Alan Coe to name just a few artists joining him for a concert as big as Texas to celebrate 4th of July!

Nutty Brown Cafe & Amphitheatre Independence Day with Bob Schneider | July 1st @ 6:30pm

Now, if you haven’t seen Bob Schneider at least once then you must!  He is a notorious time-honored Austin musician. He is headlining at Nutty Brown Cafe located off Highway 290.  Nutty Brown’s serves great food and tasty drinks. There will also be fireworks at the end of the evening to celebrate Independence Day!

Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Celebration | July 4th 6pm – 9pm

Grab your blankets, folding chairs and swimsuits for the littles then head to the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Caves. You can order some food from one of many restaurants, shop the sidewalk sale, and let your kids run through the water all while listening to great live music on the Central Plaza.  Stay awhile and watch the awesome fireworks display around 9pm.

Round Rock Express Independence Day Game and Fireworks | July 4th 7:05pm

Head out to the Dell Diamond to watch the Round Rock Express play while wearing special uniforms.  There is a great selection of food and drinks, exclusive pool/spa area as well as picnic area with playground.  Once the game is over they will have a wonderful postgame fireworks show celebrating the great U.S.A!  Go to their site for tickets and details on the exclusive areas.

Independence Day at the Blue Starlite Urban Mini Drive-In | July 4th 9pm

Conde Nast said it’s one of the “Coolest Outdoor Movie Theater’s in the World.”    The Blue Starlite Drive-In Theater will be showing Independence Day (The Movie) with on screen High Def Digital Fireworks show and BLACK LIGHT PARTY!  What a fun and unique way to spend the 4th of July! 

Fireworks at the Quarries – HPBC High School | July 2nd @ Sundown

Head out to the Quarries to watch a spectacular fireworks celebration over the beautiful Quarry lake. Bring a blanket, chairs, and a picnic. There is plenty of lawn space to share and very family friendly.  Located at the Hyde Park Baptist Church high school location near Braker and Mopac.

City of Westlake Hills 4th of July Parade & Celebration | July 4th @ 8:45am

Lead by the Westlake Fire Department, this Independence Day parade will not disappoint.  Come dressed in your best red, white and blue outfit then stay awhile after the parade ends for some fun games, bouncy houses and other family friendly activities at Northstar Bank.  

Rollingwood’s July 4th Parade, Picnic and Fireworks | July 4th @ 9am

This fabulous neighborhood parade starts early in the morning with breakfast and water. Then take a short walk to the Rollingwood park for more family fun including music, face painting, sack races, balloon tosses, and much more. End the Independence celebration at the Zilker Clubhouse to watch fireworks around 9:3opm.

‘Patriotism on Parade’ at Lakeway’s July 4th Celebration | July 4th @8:30am

Join the City of Lakeway at its 42nd Annual Parade and festivities. People of all ages will be donning their red, white and blue as well as holding American flags in celebration of Independence Day. Get there super early for the best viewing spot and get ready to catch toys and candy flying off floats and decorated golf carts! The celebration will continue at the Activity Center!

Marble Falls Community Fireworks | July 4th @ 9:15pm

Come out to the beautiful Marble Falls to watch a fabulous fireworks show at Lakeside Park.  Make a fun filled afternoon out of it and head to the park early to enjoy water slides, bounce houses,food vendors and live music!

Grey Rock Golf Club Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration | July 3rd @ 6pm

Enjoy the live music and local Austin vendors including Southside Flying Pizza at the Grey Rock Golf Club’s 4th of July Celebration. Perfect location for all the Circle C neighbors in South Austin.  Fireworks start at dark.

45th Annual NWHills 4th of July Parade and Party | July 4th @ 9am

Wow, 45th annual parade for this central Austin neighborhood! Wear your best red, white and blue attire and join family and friends at this fun annual celebration. The parade will go down North Hills Dr and then afterwards party at Doss.

Stars & Stripes Scramble Independence Day Fireworks @ Avery Ranch Golf Club | July 3rd @ 3pm

Meet your friends out at the Avery Ranch Golf Club for food and fun for the 4th of July!  Members and non-members are invited. Your tickets include 2 drinks, burger bar and contests.  Fireworks show at 9:20pm.

4th of July Parade & Festival – Cat Hollow Park | July 4th @ 9:30am

Join your Brushy Creek neighbors for a wonderful 4th of July parade and festival. This event is very family friendly with a ton of water activities including water slide. There will also be an obstacle course, food vendors and free admission to the Cat Hollow pool until 1pm!

Pfirecracker Pfestival @ the Pfield | July 4th @ 5pm

The City of Pflugerville’s 4th of July fireworks celebration starts at 5pm and continues until the fireworks are over! There will be plenty of food trucks to choose from for the whole family.  Enjoy a fun time with your neighbors!

Round Rock Frontier Days Celebration & Parade | July 4th @ 10am

What an event going on in Round Rock for 4th of July filled with a parade, fireworks, carnival rides, pig races, shootouts, children’s games, and movies in the park. There will also be music from the Austin Symphonic Band!

Dripping Springs – Fire in the Sky | July 4th @ 5pm

Live music, dinner and a fireworks show will complete this wonderful night.  The show is free, however, you can purchase a Salt Lick dinner for a VIP experience or just order from one of the food trucks. There will be a petting zoo, bounce house, and train ride to entertain the kids until the fireworks show!

Cedar Park 4th of July Parade and Celebration | July 4th @ 10am

The parade starts at 10am but then the celebration will begin at 4pm. Join your Cedar Park neighbors to enjoy some live music, food, washer tournament, carnival rides and games.  Fireworks will be at dark! 

Red, White and Buda | July 4th All Day

Celebrate Independence Day in Buda with a morning children’s parade donning unique kids floats, bicycles and wagons. Then take the kids to get some energy out in the bounce houses.  Later in the evening there will be live music and a fireworks show.

Kyle’s Independence Celebration & Fireworks Show | July 4th @ 6pm

The City of Kyle will be celebrating Independence with a fireworks show from the Plum Creek Golf Course. Before the show there will be live music, hot dogs, drinks, and other snacks for sale.

Sertoma’s 4th of July Celebration in San Gabriel Park | July 4th @ 11am

Join your neighbors out at the San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. Festivities will start at 11am and go into the night. There will be 60 arts and crafts booths, 20 food vendors, kiddie rides, bounce houses, as well as a petting zoo. The musical entertainment will begin at noon and the night will end with a fireworks finale.
