Austin Area Parents Night Outs

Have you ever found yourself searching aimlessly for a babysitter at the last minute with no luck or been following a strict budget that doesn’t allow for dinner and the high price of childcare? I’m certain as Moms we’ve all shared one or both of these dilemmas at some point. Luckily, there is another, pretty great alternative available. Austin and its surrounding areas have a wide variety of businesses that offer Parents Night Out or Kid’s Night Out. This service allows you a few hours away while your children eat, play and socialize. The best part: most are equal to or much less than the going hourly rate of a babysitter!

We’ve rounded up a list of those programs for parents night out to make your next date night easier on the kids and your wallet. Follow the links to the websites for dates and additional details!

Brushy Creek MUD

Twice a year the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District offers a themed parent’s night out. Each event features dinner, sports, crafts, outdoor play, snacks and a movie.

Café Monet

The first Friday of each month both the Westgate and Triangle locations offer a Kid’s Night Out program. Although this one is more expensive and shorter, it does include a pizza dinner and mosaic or pottery painting that they will be able to display at home.

Capital Gymnastics

Drop your kids off at one of their three locations two Friday evenings a month. Activities will vary by location, but always include games and plenty of gym time. No food is provided, but snacks and water are welcome.

Champions Gymnastics & Cheer

Every Friday of the month Champions offers Parents’ Night Out at both their Austin and Lake Travis locations. Each Friday is themed and the kids will have pizza, access to the gymnasium equipment including trampolines and play games. Summer schedule is subject to change.

Clubhouse for Kids

If you are looking for a state-licensed drop-in hourly childcare center this is for you. Every employee has been background checked and is certified in CPR and First Aid. They also offer late care until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays which is a huge plus!

Creative Brick Builders

If your child is into Legos than this is a perfect place to drop them off while you enjoy a night out. Parents’ Night Out is offered once a month on Saturdays. Price includes pizza, fruit, juice, an after dinner frozen treat, games, crafts and lots of Lego building and creativity.

Crenshaw Athletic Club

Kid’s Night Out is offered monthly and includes gymnastics, trampolines, swimming, games, a full-length (G or PG) film on a huge screen, late night snack and beverage. Summer KNO is subject to change.

The Hive

This new concept offers a place for parents to work, visit with friends or enjoy various activities while their children are supervised in a fun and safe play area. Rather than the traditional Parent’s Night Out, children can be dropped off and while parents attend creative events throughout the week/weekend hosted on site. Check their Facebook page for a list of events. Some highlights are Moms Meet & Mingles, ATX Goat Yoga Happy Hour and Massage Monday.

This is an early preschool through pre-k program that offers drop in care after hours for date nights or throughout the week/weekend so you can get shopping done or visit the doctor kid free. If you work fulltime, this is a great solution for days your child has a school holiday, but your business does not.

On scheduled Friday nights kids can wear themselves out with funtastic fitness and entertainment while you enjoy a night off. The first half of the evening is spent playing on gym equipment- think zip line, rock wall, moon bounce- while the last includes a snack and movie.

The Thinkery

Spend an evening in the Mueller area while your children live it up at The Thinkery. They will enjoy pizza, hands on STEAM activities, museum exhibits without all the crowds. As an added bonus, The Thinkery has partnered with Mueller businesses to offer food and entertainment discounts exclusively to those parents with children attending their Parents’ Night Out!
