I don’t know about you but for me, there was always something magical about the July 4th holiday as a kid. I loved eating hot dogs with cousins, some fresh watermelon and watching amazing firework displays light up the night! From festivals to parades to fireworks shows, here’s your go-to list of 4th of July celebrations in and around Austin! Don’t be afraid to check out some of the suburban towns’ events for smaller crowds and equally exciting shows! Most of these events are free with some food and activity vendors charging.
HEB Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks
Where: Vic Mathias Shores (fks Auditorium Shores)
When: July 4th 8:30pm
Details: Claim your spot on the lawn early and get ready for one of the most Austin experiences! The concert begins at 8:30p with fireworks at 9:30p.
Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic
Where: Circuit of the Americas – Austin360 Ampitheater
When: July 4th, 12pm
Details: Who wouldn’t want to celebrate America with Willie himself? The concert by Willie and his friends kicks off at noon on the 4th and ends with a patriotic fireworks show. Tickets range in price.
Where: Hill Country Galleria in Bee Caves
When: July 4th, 6-9pm
Details: Come earlier in the day to shop the all-day sidewalk sale and eat at one of the many restaurants. Bring your chair or blanket to enjoy the live by Vallejo starting at 6p and end the night with fireworks of course! The fireworks start at approximately 9:15p.
Where: Bastrop, Fisherman’s Park
When: June 29th-30th, 7-12p Friday, 10a-10p Saturday
Details: Friday night is a Domino tournament, the 2nd Annual Run, White & Blue Glow Run, a family-friendly 5K followed by a street dance with music by LC Rocks! Family fun activities continue on Saturday including a parade & costume contest, eating contests, Capital of Texas Zoo, Water Wonderland ($10), rock wall, car show and live music by Frank Cavitt, ending with fireworks! Note – some activities may charge a fee.
July 4th Frontier Days Celebration 2018 & Sertoma July 4th Parade
Where: Round Rock, Old Settler’s Park
When: July 4th, 10a-11pm
Details: Parade begins at 10a with the Frontier Days Festival opening at Noon. Come for the stunt show, cowboy sing-a-long, pig races, eating contest, kids activity zone, FREE ICE CREAM (7pm) and live music by the Austin Symphonic Band! Fireworks begin at dark and immediately following is a Movies in the Park showing of StarWars: The Last Jedi.
Pfirecracker Pfestival at the Pfield
Where: You guessed it, Pflugerville!
When: July 4th, 5p
Details: The Pfestival opens at 5p with food trucks and a kid’s area filled with crafts, games and face painting. Live music by Suede begins at 6p followed by an Independence Day ceremony and fireworks.
Sertoma’s Annual 4th of July Family Celebration
Where: Georgetown, San Gabriel Park
When: July 4th, 11am
Details: Start the day with a “Hometown Parade” and stay for all the activities from arts and crafts, to kiddie rides, bounce houses, a petting zoo and local entertainment. Don’t miss the fireworks finale kicking off at dusk (around 9:30p).
Where: Wells Branch, Katherine Fleischer Park
When: July 4th, 10am
Details: This north Austin neighborhood is famous for its annual festival. The parade begins at 10am followed by kid-friendly activities and live entertainment under the Big Tent! In addition, the Katherine Fleischer pool is open and free to the public. A Silent Auction will also be held to benefit the Wells Branch Neighborhood Association to raise money for many of the annual events they sponsor. Fireworks wrap up the evening beginning at 9:30pm.
4th of July Parade & Celebration
Where: Cedar Park, Elizabeth Milburn Park
When: July 4th, 10am
Details: Parade begins at 10am along Discovery Blvd from HEB Center to the Recreation Center. The July 4th Celebration opens at 5p at the park and will have live music, games, bounce houses, food, face painting and carnival games. The Milburn pool is also open from 1p-8p with daily admission rates. Finally, a fireworks display will begin at dusk!
July 4th Celebration & Fireworks
Where: Taylor, Murphy Park
When: July 4th, 9am
Details: Check out this small town’s celebration sponsored by the American Legion Hall Post 39. Kicking the day off with a parade at 9am followed by activities in the park like a food court, ice cream social, a ceremony to honor vets and music by local bands in the Legion hall until the fireworks show starting at 9:15pm. Get up close and personal seats to the show by walking over to Memorial stadium for seats!
Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show
Where: Kyle, Performing Arts Center
When: July 4th, 7pm
Details: Don’t miss this fireworks show to the south of Austin! Live music will be going from 6-9pm at the Plum Creek Golf Course and beginning at 7pm at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center with fireworks lighting up the sky around 9:30pm.
Where: Buda, Main Street and Buda Sportsplex
When: July 4th, 9am-12pm and 5pm-10pm
Details: Join the town of Buda in celebrating with a Downtown parade in the morning starting at 9am with awards for the best-decorated bikes followed by fun free activities at the Greenbelt! Continue the fun again in the evening at the Buda Sportsplex for food, entertainment and fireworks at night!

Details: the Family-friendly event that includes live music, food, crafts, kid’s activities and a spectacular fireworks show!
Where: Lago Vista, Bar K Park
When: July 4th, 8am
Details: Start the day with a 5k race, watch the parade beginning at 10am and then stick around for fun by the lake! There are lots of fun activities planned like Slip and Slide Baseball, Pickle Ball, train rides for kids, ice cream and a dunk tank! End the day with a fireworks display lighting up the lake and boats below.
Lakeway 4th of July parade starts @ 8:30 am at golf course on Lakeway drive , Lakeway drive closes off at 7:30 I believe. Vintage airplane flyover will start off parade at or before 8:00 am. Route goes from golf course up Lakeway drive to Lakeway Blvd. normally around 100 and over floats and groups participants. They will be throwing out candy trinkets and toys, so bring a chair and bag to hold your goodies!
