Where To Buy A Unique Baby Gift In Austin

At this stage in my life, it seems like I’m always searching for a baby gift for at least one expectant mama friend. I usually get one or more items from the registry, but I also like including another, more thoughtful gift to add a personal touch. And while I generally prefer to sit on my couch and order everything under the sun from Amazon, it’s a treat to venture out and browse cute boutiques, hoping to stumble upon that perfect present.

Here are 12 of the best shops in Austin where you can find a unique baby gift and support local businesses and crafters:

Enlightened Baby

515 S. Congress Avenue (South)

Enlightened Baby has an incredible selection of natural, environmentally conscious baby products—toys, clothing, feeding and diapering products, cribs, strollers, and more. They have tons of products that make great gifts, too, including quilts and burp clothes from Little Unicorn, adorable dolls from Apple Park and Kathe Kruse, decor, and books. Even if you’re just shopping for a gift, you’re bound to find something for your own baby here, too.

Parts and Labour

1704 S. Congress Avenue (South)

This is my favorite place to find Austin-themed onesies. I especially love the handmade felt designs. They feature other local crafters too – whimsical stuffed animals from Nushkins, and animal hooks from Jungle Hooks.

Favor the Kind

1204 S. Congress Avenue (South)

This Dallas-based boutique has a well-curated selection of apparel, toys, and books for little ones. My favorite items were the baby cowboy boots, “suckulent” teether toy, and the Baby’s First Tattoo alternative memory book. If you’re looking for a quirky but cute baby gift, this shop is for you.
