Family Friendly Food In The ‘Burbs

Round Rock Restaurants Perfect for Kids

I’ll be honest and admit that my kids are not great in restaurants.  Eating out for us can be really stressful (and potentially embarrassing) if the restaurant isn’t super kid friendly.  In a nutshell, my kids are just LOUD.  They’re funny and nice most of the time, but they have no whisper voice yet.  And not even a good super glue will keep them in their seats for the entire meal.   At this stage in our lives, kid-friendly is a must.  Luckily for us, Round Rock is FULL of restaurants designed with kids (and their parents) in mind.

If you’re an Austinite and the thought of venturing out to the ‘burbs makes you cringe – then you haven’t been here in quite a while!  Your friendly neighbor to the north, Round Rock, has really upped its game in the last few years when it comes to restaurants. You’re invited!

In no particular order, here are my top ten places in and near Round Rock to take the kids and actually enjoy your family time.

The Dell Diamond

Round Rock, Texas 78665

While the Dell Diamond obviously isn’t a restaurant, the food and the family friendly atmosphere at the ball park is on point.  Even if you aren’t into baseball, it’s a must do.

Why we love it:

  • All the food and drink options! The classic ball park hot dogs are delicious, but if that doesn’t float your boat, there are never-ending choices.  Barbecue, a beer garden, a deli, pizza, a chophouse, a grill, a pub, & tons more.
  • The Berm.  AKA the cheap seats!  But make no mistake, the view is still great and the kids have a blast rolling down the grassy hills.
  • A nursing room for mamas & babies
  • The FUN ZONE!  The playground is free and the other activities cost extra.
  • Fireworks after every Friday home game
  • Sunday home games are Kid’s Days! Kids 12 & under get to run the bases after the game.

Let’s EAT!
