Best Consignment Stores For Kids And Moms In Austin

As someone who loves to shop but also loves a discount, consignment stores have long been a favorite of mine. I get a thrill out of combing through the racks and scoring something in great condition that I would have never bought at full price.

You get a new shopping experience every time you go to a consignment store, since items are always leaving and being replaced by new treasures. And if you’re concerned about clothing waste, buying used and consigning your old clothes is one way you can help keep clothes out of landfills.

Austin has some great kids’ consignment stores, too. It’s tough to pay full price for upscale brands or baby equipment you’ll only use for a short period of time, so buying used might be the way to go.

Here are the best consignment stores in Austin for women and kids.

WOMEN’S

MOSS Designer Consignment

MOSS Designer Consignment

705 South Lamar Blvd. (South)
mossaustin.com

A lot of consignment stores say they are upscale, but MOSS takes it to another level. This gorgeous store is full of near-perfect finds from designers like Elizabeth and James, Oscar de la Renta, Isabel Marant, and Derek Lam. While some pieces are super extravagant (like this actual crown from Dolce & Gabbana), I did see spot great deals, like a beautiful black lace cocktail dress from BCBG for $62.50 and an adorable Joie romper for $86.25. If you need something for a special occasion or just want to drool over some Christian Louboutins, MOSS is the place to go.

Uptown Cheapskate

3005 South Lamar Blvd. (South)
uptowncheapskateaustin.com

This South Lamar consignment store has racks and racks of clothes from a wide range of brands, but almost everything I saw was cute and in great condition. The prices are very reasonable too: everything from an H&M top for $7.50 to a Free People dress for $17 to an Escada skirt for $29.99. The inventory is well organized and they also have workout clothes, swimwear, shoes, and accessories.

Just Between Us

13233 Pond Springs Rd. (Northwest)
justbetweenusaustin.com

Just Between Us has been around for over 30 years and is one of the oldest consignment stores in Austin. This well-organized store has items from brands like Banana Republic, White House Black Market, Lucky, Express, Lululemon, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, and more for up to 75% off retail. They have sales going on all the time to help save you even more.

Still in Style

7437 Burnet Rd. (Crestview)
stillinstyleaustin.com

This upscale boutique has a well-curated selection of classic and trendy brands at affordable prices. I liked their dress selection the most, with everything from a Roxy sundress for just $10.49 to a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress for $52.49. They also had items from brands like Tahari, Trina Turk, Michael Kors, White House Black Market, Lucky, LOFT, BCBG Max Azria, and J.Crew.

Style Encore

2929 W. Anderson Ln. (Allandale)

This store had a lot of cute things that caught my eye, and I even walked out with a J.Crew skirt for $11. I saw everything from Gap and LOFT to Kate Spade and Alicia + Olivia. They also had Kendra Scott earrings for $40, hard to beat that!

KIDS’

SparkleKids

4800 Burnet Rd. (Rosedale)
sparklekidsresale.com

When I walked into SparkleKids it didn’t feel like a consignment store at all, but rather a bright, charming, and upscale kids’ clothing boutique. They carry brands like Tea, Mini Boden, crewcuts, Janie and Jack, and Ralph Lauren. Prices are very reasonable, and many items were on sale, like a Janie and Jack button-down marked down to just $4 (from $8) and a Ralph Lauren dress marked down to $7 (from $15). They also have a huge shoe selection, some quality toys and a few other baby gear items (like an Ergo carrier for $50). As a bonus, their cute play area kept my son occupied while I shopped around.

Kid to Kid

5300 S MoPac Expy (Southwest)
14010 US-183 (Northwest)
kidtokid.com/austin

The clothing selection here is a bit overwhelming, but you can definitely find some great deals on kids’ clothes in all sizes. Shirts range from $2.99-$4.99, shorts from $4.99-$7.99 and dresses from $4.99-$8.99. In addition to Carter’s, Cat and Jack, OshKosh, and similar brands, I found items from Hanna Andersson, Tea,  Nautica, Boden, and Ralph Lauren. They also had baby equipment like the 4 Moms Rock a Roo for $94.99 and the Fisher Price Auto Rock n Play for $42.99. The toys were nearly all plastic but in good condition.

Anna’s Toy Depot

2620 S Lamar Blvd (South)
annastoydepot.com

This hidden neighborhood gem has an awesome selection of modern and classic toys, including Legos (so many Legos!), books, puzzles, train sets, cars (including bins of 50 cent and $1 cars), kitchen sets, Melissa & Doug items and other wooden toys. The store is very clean and organized and the toys look almost brand new. The employee who checked me out was super friendly and encouraged my son to pick up and play with the toys.

Sweet Peas Children’s Consignment

2300 Lohmans Spur (Lakeway)
sweetpeaslakeway.com

Sweet Peas is an upscale consignment store that carries children’s clothing and nursery items from brands like Baby Bjorn, Ergo Baby, Hanna Andersson, Janie & Jack, Joovy, Mini Boden, Peg Perego, Petit Bateau, and more. They also carry upscale maternity clothing, as well as toys, books, DVDs, shoes, and accessories.
