Family Volunteer Day is a national day of service that celebrates the power of families who volunteer together, supporting their neighborhoods, communities, and the world. Family Volunteer Day is held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday season with a day of giving and service.
This year, Generation SERVE will host our inaugural event to provide families the opportunity to learn about giving back to our community while sampling hands-on service activities to benefit nonprofits across Austin. Thanks to the generosity of our event sponsors listed below, this special event will be free and open to the public. We welcome families with children of all ages to attend! Service projects will be appropriate for children of age three and older.
What to expect at Austin Families Give Back
The event will be a family service fair where parents/caregivers and their children will be able to learn about our community’s needs and sample service projects to support organizations that fall under the categories of Animal Care & Services, Environment, Supporting Seniors, Foster Care/Child Welfare, Health & Wellness, Poverty/Homelessness, and Education. We will provide each attendee with a Holiday Resource Guide that will include a variety of ways to give back and support the needs of our community during this year’s holiday season!
