Annual ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot

November 23 | 7am 

The ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot, one of Austin’s most beloved Thanksgiving traditions, started in 1991 with just a handful of volunteers and 600 participants. Today it has grown to be the largest 5-mile run in Texas, with more than 700 volunteers and over 20,000 participants from all over the U.S. and beyond.

Not only is it a great way for families to have fun together on Thanksgiving, but it’s also an event that you can really feel good about being a part of–100% of all proceeds go directly to Caritas of Austin, a non-profit that works to prevent and end homelessness in the Austin community.  To date, the Turkey Trot has raised more than $4.4 million for Caritas.

2023 Trail of Lights Fun Run

Run, Jog or Stroll the 2 mile Fun Run course – Starting at the Zilker Holiday Tree near Barton Springs Pool and moving through the colorful lights and festive sights of Austin’s beloved Trail of Lights.

Austin Jingle Bell 5K

Calling all runners (and walkers) near and far! It’s time to kick off the holiday season with the 28th Annual Austin Jingle Bell 5K!!!  We are back at The Domain again this year, but there is still an option to participate virtually.

Join us on December 3rd for the festive Austin Jingle Bell 5K and Kids’ Fun Run!!!  Experience the family fun with Santa hats, jingle bells, and hanging out with Santa!

The first 1000 registrants are guaranteed our newly designed event t-shirt! The top 3 runners in each of the age divisions will receive a medal based on their finish time! All kids 12 and under will receive their very own participation medal! Don’t delay and register your family today!

43rd Annual Decker Challenge

The Decker Challenge is celebrating 45 year and is still running strong! Join Austin Runners Club on December 10 for the Decker Challenge Half Marathon, 5K and Kids Mile.

Cedar Park

Cedar Park Turkey Day 5K

November 23 | 9am

This is a Family Fun event close to your home and the right distance for you and your family to come out have a great time and make it home in time for Turkey.  The  5K course has some moderate hills and some flat portions. The Shake A Leg  Mile and Kids Mile takes place inside the stadium Loop Road and is free of vehicles coming and going.  The major intersections are handled by Cedar Park Police and you have a full lane all the way around the course.

Leander

Old Town Rudolph Run 5K

December 2  | 9 am

Lace up your running shoes and don your holiday attire! The 8th annual Old Town Rudolph Run 5K is coming to Old Town Leander on December 2, 2023.

This chip-timed event starts in the heart of Old Town and tours through the streets of Leander. The course is flat and fast with no hills or rough terrain. This 5K will have limited participation, so sign up early to ensure you can join us for this exciting event.

Liberty Hill

Mosaic Trail Run

All of us are like pieces of a mosaic.  We’re all different sizes, shapes, colors, styles, ages…But when we join together for a common goal, we create a beautiful picture together, a mosaic of fun if you will!
So, we created this trail running weekend right here in the outskirts of Austin (in the rapidly-growing Liberty Hill) to give us an excuse to play together.  All ages, ethnicities, backgrounds, and generations are invited to our trail run at an awesome historic Texas ranch, right next to the city, on the San Gabriel River.  We are especially challenging families to make a common goal to exercise together, to finish a race together, to play in the dirt together, to try something new together, and to come together to help complete this massively fun mosaic with others in our community!

Spicewood

Spicewood Vineyards Half-Marathon & 5K/10k

December 9 | 8:30am

A race with character. A course with character. An experience that will build character and reward you with wine from award-winning Spicewood Vineyards. Challenge yourself and drink in the beauty of the Texas Hill Country! Just 45 minutes west of Austin and 90 minutes north of San Antonio, Spicewood Vineyards is the setting for this beautiful, challenging run. Take in amazing Hill Country views while running on scenic farm roads in Burnet County. At the finish line, collect your finisher medal, then head to the event center for a wine tasting in your own souvenir glass, along with a delicious post-race catered meal (veggie options available).

All distances are chip-timed and run along a challenging out-and-back course. Aid stations with water and sports drink are available approximately every 1.5 to 2 miles along the course. Half-marathoners access aid stations 6 times, 10k runners have 4 stops and one stop for the 5k.
