With today being earth day we thought it would be appropriate to share a fun activity you can do with your kids to make them feel connected to Mother Earth. Now that Caroline is approaching three (I can’t believe it!) I am finding it increasingly fun to do shared activities with her. She is a lot more routine driven now, so mommy-daughter tasks are starting to resonate. This is something we have not tried, but plan to dive into this weekend. Thans to The Remodeled Life for the Pinspiration.
- Container/Box
- Plastic beverage glasses
- Soil
- Seeds
- Clothespins (or some other labeling system)
- Little Hands
Here’s whatcha do:
- Print out labels or write the seed name on clothespins
- Affix labels/clothespins to the cups
- Fill up all of the cups 2/3 with soil
- Add seeds to the cups (obviously play matchmaker {or as Caroline calls it “matchy match”} with the pre-labeled cups)
- Add more soil to the top of the seeds
- Place the cups in the plastic container or box
- Sprinkle them with a little H20
- Place them in an area with some sunshine
VOILA! An indoor garden that you and your little one can tend. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty with my little lady this weekend on this activity. Have you ever done anything like this?
