Hey fellow mamas, new AMB team member here! I’m Jenn Remmel and I’m so thrilled to be joining this group of fabulous ladies!
Born and raised a California girl, I enjoyed summers on the Santa Cruz beaches and spent winters boarding on the snow-capped mountains of Lake Tahoe. My husband, Ronnie, and I headed out to Austin in the winter of 2015. We purchased a house in Circle C Ranch and haven’t looked back.
Before this glorious ride of motherhood began, traveling was always something we looked forward to. There is nothing like snorkeling in Fiji, entering a cathedral in Rome, exploring ancient ruins in Greece, and observing so many new places dripping with rich culture. Ronnie and I love living life to the fullest! The next goal is mastering travel with a child! Initially overwhelming, what do you bring, how do long flights turn out, where do we travel to first, but despite all of that we would love to have our daughter experience the world with us!
After two years of exploring Austin, attending festivals, late evenings on Rainey, amazing meals on South Congress, Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg, and shopping at the Domain, we were ready to expand our family. Miss Stella Rae was born May 2017 and has filled my heart more than I knew possible. Already crawling, pulling herself up to standing position and has more spunk than we can handle. Ronnie and I always laugh when we think of how much trouble this little girl will be with her vibrant personality and her daredevil ways. On a typical Friday night, you can find my family grilling shrimp and veggies under the bistro lights in our backyard while Stella giggles at our pooch, Oliver running laps on the grass.
I am a full time working mom balancing my family, my baby, the household, work, staying fit and a social life. Being a mother is a large part of who I am but there are so many other things that define me as well. My hope is that readers can relate to various aspects of my crazy, but beautiful life here in Austin!
10 fun facts:
1) I am pint-sized measuring a whopping 5 feet tall
2) I learned how to water ski at the age of three
3) I make lists for everything I possibly can. I literally live for the satisfaction of crossing things off of my list. If my husband crosses something off on my behalf, I will rewrite in order to cross it off myself.
4) I was a bartender for 5 years so exploring a new swanky bar with handmade cocktails is one of my favorite date nights
5) I broke my left arm in a jet-ski accident when I was 15 years old. Two surgeries, two metal plates, and 16 screws later you might as well call me Iron Man!
6) I am a sale, discount and promo code aficionado who does entirely too much shopping online.
7) I didn’t realize my first date with my husband was a date! I thought we were just two friends enjoying a San Jose Sharks game, but here we are 8 years later!
8) I have a weird obsession with cleaning my ears. I clean my ears three times a day and should definitely buy stock in Q-tip.
9) My all-time favorite TV show is Friends. I can watch it all day every day and never be sick of it.
10) I am known in my girl group as the social coordinator suggesting places to go, new restaurants to try, concerts, and festivals to soak up all the FUN things in this city.
