Hey Everyone!

My name is Brittany Snyder. Most people call me Britt though as Brittany seems so formal. Britt just has a better vibe to it. It’s easy to say, there is no question if it ends in “any, ney, or ani”. It just flows. My mom and dad called me by the name Charlie her entire pregnancy thinking I was a boy, and as I popped out after 30 hours of labor they decided to get creative and unlike anyone else in 1985 chose Brittany as the one of a kind name of choice. lol. Ever since then Charlie has been a running name in the family and one day if I pop out a baby girl she will carry on the name. Let’s hope by then it hasn’t become as “creative” as Brittany was back in my birth year.

Moving on, I am an Austin transplant via Bismarck, ND. I have been cruising through Austin for about 5 years and am happy to say that I truly feel I have found my place. I had never been to Texas before I decided to move down. I was driving on I-35 past Rainey street and said to myself. Yup, I found it!

I met my hunk of a husband via this beautiful tool called Tinder, about 2 years into my Austin adventure and have been married for just a hair over a year. We spent a few years loving living the downtown lifestyle and chose to build a house out in hill country last summer. We decided what better way to fill a home than with a big old dog and a teensy little baby so we picked up Goose our oversized kitty aka 130 lbs Great Dane. and are due to add a little baby boy to the family this May!

Apart from making sure Goose has my undivided attention, of which he demands, I work as an interior designer. I grew up categorizing fabric swatches and sleeping on show beds as a kid and decided after changing my major about a billion times that I may as well embrace what the good Lord has gifted me with and use my creativity to making HOME a place that feels perfectly inviting, functional, and cozy just like how I grew up. Josh, the hubs, owns a landscaping company so clearly, we were meant to be for presentational purposes of course.

Other than the basics, I am just loving on life right now. It has taken about a 180-degree swift move from just a few years ago and I couldn’t be more content. I love taking advantage of all that this beautiful city has to offer, music, festivals, breweries, hiking, Zilker Park, the people, the culture, and having a beautiful family and friends to share it with!

Just for reference and conversational icebreakers here are 5 fun facts about me:

  1. I was born an only child but now have 2 half brothers, 1 step sister, 2 step brothers and an adopted sister. My life in the limelight was short lived.
  2. I went to college in Flagstaff, AZ for a year, went in with the major of International intelligence and Military Affairs… came out with an A in my Snowboarding Park Skills elective and as a snowboard instructor. Mom was super impressed.
  3. I lived in South Africa when I was a baby. My dad mined Gold in an underground mine and my mom was a journalist. I had a sweet accent for about 3 seconds.
  4. I am fully convinced that if I play enough music while this little bambino is cooking in my stomach that he will come out a musical genius… ok wishful thinking but don’t bust my bubble.
  5. My husband and I basically looked like twins when we were little so already pretty much know what our kid is going to look like. (see attached photo.. thanks mom for the super sweet bowl cut)

Also full disclosure.. we clearly need to take some professional family photos. This is as good as it gets.
